THE TEKAU'S HEART MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
The Tekau's Heart Memorial Foundation, Inc. is a charitable, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that was founded in memory of our daughter and sister, Tekau Turiya Rasayon. Tekau passed away suddenly in 2012 of an Anomalous Coronary Artery (ACA), a little known heart condition. She was 17 years old.
OUR MISSION

Is to raise awareness about heart health and heart conditions, especially ACAs in teens and young adults. In addition to raising awareness about heart health and ACAs; we provide a memorial scholarship in Tekau’s name to a graduating high school senior to assist with their college and university expenses.

OUR PURPOSE
Prior to receiving our 501(c)3 designation, in 2014 and 2015 we held two community 5K fun walk/runs at Tekau’s school, Surrattsville High School, Prince George’s County, Maryland. With the help of local sponsors and community donors, we raised $1,100 scholarships each year for accepted college candidates.
We will host our annual 5KRun/1Mile Walk on September 13, 2025 at Woodrow Wilson Trail, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Oxon Hill, MD. to carry on our mission; and to raise funds for a memorial scholarship in Tekau’s name.

DONATIONS

Proceeds go towards the Tekau's Heart Memorial Scholarship, expanding our mission to raise awareness about heart health and heart conditions, providing support in funding our annual
5K Run/1Mile Walk.
