THE TEKAU'S HEART MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

The Tekau's Heart Memorial Foundation, Inc. is a charitable, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that was founded in memory of our daughter and sister, Tekau Turiya Rasayon.  Tekau passed away suddenly in 2012 of an Anomalous Coronary Artery (ACA), a little known heart condition. She was 17 years old.

OUR MISSION

OUR PURPOSE

Prior to receiving our 501(c)3 designation, in 2014 and 2015 we held two community 5K fun walk/runs at Tekau’s school, Surrattsville High School, Prince George’s County, Maryland. With the help of local sponsors and community donors, we raised $1,100 scholarships each year for accepted college candidates.

We will host our annual 5KRun/1M Walk on September 14, 2024 at Woodrow Wilson Trail, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Oxon Hill, MD. to carry on our mission; and to raise funds for a memorial scholarship in Tekau’s name.
